Restoration Planning

The engine bay was a little untidy. Wires left right and centre and a number of bad earths caused a few minor dramas, especially with the starter solenoid. The engine bay certainly wasn't from factory. The engine shown here is the newer 1275 A+ that was fitted. Additionally, the brake booster shown in the pictures is a VH44 brake booster (from an old Valiant) that was fitted due to some pedal efficiency issues. This was repurposed in the rebuild with the new disc brake setup fitted during the restoration.

A few changes to the body were planned also. The below images show the pages I compiled for the panel beater/spray painter to highlight the areas I needed to fix and paint and the body work I was up for.
